About us

Syncro - Synergy Croatia is a non-governmental organization working in the field of education, personal development, skills and support for young people.

Syncro was established in 2010 with the aim of supporting the improvement of the quality of life and human resources development through powerful experiences in education and personal development. Since we are part of the International Synergy Group, we have joined a shared vision of the world that works for all.

Team

Team consists of four, each developing further by participating in trainings on topics such as personal development, body awareness, communication and coaching skills, media tools, employment and outdoor activities.

Mission

Our mission is to encourage young people to reach their potential, to create a learning space through personal development trainings, to support education and involvement of young people, especially those with fewer opportunities, to provide opportunities for cooperation in the youth field and to create opportunities for expression of creativity and enjoyment in life, while including everyone and to empower people to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge for responsible and quality life, to become active citizens and to take an active role in their lives and in the lives in their communities.

Who do we do it for?

The target groups are young people, youth workers and adults active in the field of youth-work and working with people, youth coming from broken families, youth with disabilities and coming from disadvantaged background and minority groups.of all of our projects so far have been the young people facing fewer opportunities that makes their participation more difficult.

What do we do?

Through the implementation of the international personal development trainings, youth exchanges, experiential learning in the outdoors, teaching various technical skills, coaching, group moderation, communication skills, awareness programs, sports and community projects, we teach how to overcome physical and mental challenges that result in building self-esteem and discovering one's own full capacities, which can later be transferred to everyday life.

Special accent is also given to realizing social and environmental responsibility and feeling the impact of one's actions on the group and society as a whole.

Since June 2013. Syncro has successfully prepared organized and implemented 1 training course, 11 youth exchanges, 5 long-term ESC projects and 1 short term ESC project.

Also, in the past 3 years, we have been partners in more than 65 projects where we supported and gave the opportunity to more than 300 young people to participate in such activities as well. Besides this, in the past two years we have supported 25 young people from Croatia who have participated in our EVS partnerships projects from one month to up to 1 year in Germany, the Netherlands, Romania, Turkey, Czech Republic,Slovakia, Sweden and Malta.

Topics and Methodology

The topics of the project we organize are often created as a suggestion directly from the groups we work with, as a feedback on what they are missing or what they want to work on, and so far we have had projects on the topic of employability, communication skills, dance, active citizenship, youth support, creativity, theater techniques, and cultural learning and Exchange.

The methods are the methods of non-formal education: experiential learning, learning through playing, personal development methods, outdoor education, creativity workshops, coaching et cetera.

Syncro Zagreb events

As well, Syncro-Synergy Croatia is active at local level in the city of Zagreb. We organize and coordinate local projects such our youth club "Syncloud" organized on regular basis,"Projektarnica" about project writing and management,"ARTichoke Festival" youth amateur art festival implement by our volunteers in 2014 and 2015.
